He played Scarface all the damn time and I started to love his lyrics in the same way I loved the post NWA Ice Cube’s lyrics. He lived in Chicago and when Common released “ Takin it Easy” he shunned it even though he lived like 3 houses away from the cat. The other reason is my late cousin B.M.I (Barely Makin’ It) loved him some Scarface. This is one reason why I gravitated to the guy. His lyrics were about as visual as a treatment for a music video, the words would fly out from the boom box and almost play the music video in your head that instant. “ Money and the Power“, “ My Minds Playing Tricks On Me” and “ Smile” were all classics in not only my mind, but the minds of the throngs of people that made Scarface famous. If I look back over the career of Ghetto Boy Scarface I can remember a ton of titles that I will never forget as far as songs that were Classic.
